CHRISTMAS WALKABOUT EXHIBIT DECEMBER 6TH


Anna Maria Island Art League announces
 “Christmas Walk About Exhibit” December 6, 2013, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm.


The Anna Maria Island Art League will be having an exhibit with local artists and authors.  Some of the artists include: 

Internationally acclaimed  mural artist, John Allinson.  For the past twenty years he has worked in several countries for private and corporate clients.  His work encompasses themes for restaurants, hotels and bars, airports and swimming pools. His local works on the island, include, Lobsters Restaurant, Hurricane Hanks and a large wall mural on Pine Avenue; see below.



Brandon Scott will also be featured and is an award winning "Acrylic Dreamscape" artist as well as a deep and vivid "new age watercolor" portrait artist. He is part of the duo that won the 2013 Artspace Anna Maria Iron Artists Throwndown  .Brandon is a contributing writer for The Village Magazine where he specializes in the Bradenton Arts scene.

Author and Holmes Beach resident, Jeannie Hudkins, will be on hand to discuss her book, Eat Like You Give A Damn, For The Animals, For Your Health and For Our Planet.  She holds a Certification in Plant-Based Nutrition by Cornell University and shares the simple truths of how to dismiss and even reverse common diseases and live a vibrant, healthy, compassionate life. Hudkins will have copies available for purchase and signing, and samples of recipes included in the book.
                                                         




Nicole Quigley, originally from Anna Maria Island Florida, is the author of Like Moonlight at Low Tide.  Her debut book received the 2013 American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) Carol Award for the young adult fiction category.  Set in Anna Maria Island, the book is an inspirational YA romance that deals with bullying, suicide, and faith.  She will also have copies of her book available for purchase and signing. 


Longboat Key resident, Helen Howard, is an antiques dealer-turned-folk artist, who was featured in Country Living magazine.  Her watercolors have hints of American artists of the early 19th-century.  She chooses the frames first and that determines the painting.

                        




Andrew Boyd, photographer and author, will also be featured. Andy's beautiful photos have been featured in many books, including, This Great American, And Inspiring View, and his highly illustrated manual, Black and White Photography, Unveiling the Digital Mystery.







Refreshments will be served. The Christmas Walk About coincides with the lighting of the Christmas Tree at the Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce at dusk
